Parent or guardian involvement

Bookings and communications should be managed through a parent or guardian. They should know when lessons take place and remain reasonably available during the session.

Online lesson environment

The learner should join from a suitable shared or study space, dressed appropriately and using an account approved by the parent or guardian. Lessons must not be recorded unless this has been expressly agreed in advance.

Communication

Administrative communication should normally take place with the parent or guardian. Personal social-media contact between tutor and learner is not appropriate.

Concerns

Any safeguarding concern will be taken seriously and may be recorded, discussed with the parent or guardian where appropriate, or referred to the relevant safeguarding authority when required.

A full safeguarding policy, reporting process and safer-working procedures should be finalised before tutoring children.
